Judgement Day!

Even though an army sets up camp against me, my heart will not be afraid.  Even tough a war breaks out against me, I will still have confidence in the Lord.  Psalm 27:3

Been thinking a lot lately on the fact that most people are so quick to judge others for their actions and slow to forgive.  Then I see this verse this morning.  And I am reminded, that it really doesn't matter what other people think about what you have done or not done.  You are not on this Earth to please those people.  If you are right with the Lord, he will protect your from these "enemies".

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:23

We all sin and make bad choices for ourselves.  We all make mistakes.  The important thing is that we learn from them, truly ask for forgiveness and move on.   When we have asked with our hearts, it is done.  God completely forgives us, forgets it and moves on.
 Micah 7:19

He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

See what I mean... forgiven and forgotten.

Ephesians 4:31-32

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Why can't people be like that?  These same people that expect forgiveness from God when they ask for it...do not offer it to others.

Why do these people feel  that they have the right to judge others?

Matthew 7:1

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged."

See, the bible tells us NOT to judge.

I honestly try not to judge others.  I fail sometimes.  My rule of thumb is to not judge a person for anything...especially if it does not pertain, involve or effect me.

Now, it has been my experience, that these same people who judge, and don't forgive others are usually the ones who spread rumors also.   People LOVE to tell what they think they know.  Regardless of who is hurts.  My sister once said "There are 3 sides to every story..side A, side B, and the TRUTH".  So here's what... if you hear a RUMOR.... that is just what it is....a RUMOR..... so DO NOT spread it. Don't feed the fire.  I would venture a guess that in most situations, only GOD knows the whole truth and that right there makes God and God alone qualified to sit in judgment of someone.

So consider how you would feel if the shoe were on the other foot and someone was going around town talking about you and maybe it is true and maybe it isn't. Regardless, you will feel like it is none of anybodies business, right?

We all need to stay out of other peoples business. Mind our own business.  Don't judge, don't spread rumors etc, etc. And forgive people of their shortcomings and of their mistakes (even if they don't ask you personally to) because, trust me...there will come a day when you will want/need forgiveness too.

Ok, now, I have not written this with malice toward anyone.  It has just been on my mind this week... If I have offended anyone, please forgive me as it was not my intent.

  1. You are so right my good neighbor! This reminds me of a few things... 1) Let he who is without sin cast the first stone... 2) People who live in glass houses should not throw rocks. 3) How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
